creeping fig question

Hey, will a creeping fig cover and "strangle" other plants in the tank? I have a cissus amazonica (sp?) in one of my tank and I swear it has eyes...it shoots out runners directly at the other plants and begins to wrap around them. I have to trim it every couple of weeks. Will creeping fig do this?

They will if you don't watch them. I trim mine back every month or so.
