Compatibility....

ReptoNick Jan 23, 2004 12:34 PM

I have a 5 month old Northern Diamond Back Terripan. He is ~4 inches in diameter. My question is if he would be compatible with red eared sliders or painted turtles of the same size. (The terripan is kept in 100% fresh water, so that would not be a factor). What else would also be a compatible
turtle-tankmate(s)?

Thanks,
Nick

I have heard DBT's being agressive towards their tankmates. I would be carful putting other turtles with them. Some do alright with others, while some are just too agressive. It all depends on the turtle. If you want another turtle, I would suggest housing him in another tank. If you want to try keeping 2 together, make sure if problems do occur (not getting along) you have someplace for the 2nd turtle.
