I'll tell you, I am really beginning to think that Luna has, or is, reabsorbing her eggs. I understand it can happen but I have found little information. Do any of you have any first hand knowledge about the phenomenon? She is eating a few crix a day and or some small silkies. She seems more “herself” with the occasional huff-puff and “get-away-from-me-gape” (she never did this often before, but it is the first she has don’t it since November. She also just seems to get around easier. But the main reason is she is not expanding and even seems a bit smaller. I just weighed her while she is hanging on her sunning vine - just shy of 4 oz. When she goes back in her cage I’ll weigh the vine and see what she weighs. It’s just a little metal hanging scale so it won’t be super precise but hopefully I can get an idea. She was 70g at the vet a couple weeks ago. I have tried to palpate her belly but not having an experienced hand and fear of hurting her I don’t feel anything obvious. Morgana said the longest she knew of a before laying was 90 days!
Any ideas? Maybe I’ll hop over the Dr. Ivan’s and ask him...
