tip of tail ripped off

what should i do ... i went to my ig's cage this morning like i always do and i saw large spots of blood around the cage ... after closer examination i found about an inch long piece of tail on the floor ... ahhh ... when i went to go see the only herp vet i know in the area, i found she is no longer here ... i dont know what i should do ... reptar seems ok if a little bit lazy, but he ate fine today and the bleeding seems to have stopped ... i welcome any tips or siggestions .... thanks everyone

your ig should be ok. But if you are worried about it have your herp vet check it out because tails do get dy and wet gangrene and they can lose all of their tail or die if this sets in. My largest ig has lost 4 inches off of his tail since December because he has a "Whipping" habit and he breaks it. My vet says to keep it bandaged dry and clean and time will tell
