what are the enclosure specs? temps, humiidty enclosure size etc?
has his snout been scratched by trying to escape his cage? fungal infections are white or black and start with a scratch or bruise to a certain area, than high humidity can trigger an infection.

Since they are new to you and their home, the behavior itself sounds like just your typical adjustments. The nose thing could just be a little snout rubbing. Since they aren't wuite used to their new home he could have been rubbing his nose on the glass and that has caused the mark. Do you have three sides of the tank covered? If so, try covering all 4 sides for a couple days and place the tank in a very low traffic, quiet room. Give them time to them selves to adjust and keep an eye on the poor babies boo boo. You can apply Neosporin (just the regula, not the plus because it has a pain killer in it that can euthenize your frog) If it starts to look worse, I say take it to an exotics vet to be looked at and see if the Dr. reccomends an antibiotic. You may also want to think about separating the two for a little while and have a fecal exam done to rule out any parasites, especially if they were wild caught.

Over all, keep their enviroment very clean.

Best of luck to you and your new babies!

They can be extremely difficult to raise-their terrariums MUST be changed frequently. I prefer using plain white paper towels for substrate, and change it *daily.* Mist ONLY with distilled water, and for safety's sake, put some water conditioner in it to remove any possibility of chemical in it. (they can die suddenly of ammonia or chlorine exposure.)

DO NOT put two RETFs together in the same terrarium. Unless you are 100% certain they were raised together from the same dealer. AND YOU VET CHECKED THEIR FECES x3 times (one specimen is not enough, you need at least three.)

Contrary to what I read, it is NOT REQUIRED to keep them in a community. In fact, RETFs do very well in a terrarium by itself. 10 gallons PER FROG if you do keep a community.

If you do put two in together you BETTER change that substrate *daily* without fail. and make sure everything is kept absolutely CLEAN.

Failing to do this, I can guarantee they will suddenly get ill without warning and just die on you. And RETFs are too expensive to lose!

My RETF is two years old in captivity and lives all by itself and is very happy.

If you guys use subtrate like Bed-a-Beast, how often do you change it? I heard it coudl also be recycled. How do you do so?

I agree, when starting out is is extremely difficult.

A few years back when first starting with these absolute beauties,
I lost one, bought a pair and one died with in hours of arriving shipping is extremely stressful also.

I then ordered another, and it died, after staying on bottom for days.
Left me one male, evenually when I got set up right I ordered the female, and alls well for like I said almost 3 years.

When I first started, I had the coolest looking set up, with real moss and rock, and some limbs vines plants, heat, LOOKED great but was not working!

I then tore tank apart and started over. Got rid of moss and heat too ! I know most will cringe at that.
But... My reptile room is very warm during the day and at night the door is closed and heat stays in and they are fine at room temp.

I never use ANY substrate anymore. Nothing ! I have real plants for them. I have vines on the sides , I have limbs for climbing. I have a shallow water pool on bottom with a rock on waters edge.
But nothing else, just glass bottom, that like other poster said is wiped often.

Clean is the key, I agree.
