can I have two preg. rats in the same cage?

Rayquaza Jan 23, 2004 08:24 PM

I noticed the ones at the pet store are all crammed in a little tank with newborns and dont seem to mind the other females. Mine would be in a much bigger cage. Also should I put the male in with the females to get them prego or should the females go in the males cage. Also how long should I leave them together? I have bred rabbits in the past and I know the females would never tolerate a male in thier cage and they usually got bred very fast within a few hours or even minutes..but this rat thing is all new to me..Thanx

The mothers will help eachother with the babies.

About the male, you can leave him with his harem all the time as long as there are no other males present.
