LeoGeckosRcool Jan 24, 2004 12:46 AM

my fire belly toads crickets keep dieing because of all the water. i read up about them and they say use half water and half land but the cricketes always go into the water. how would i prevent this. then i switched to a bowl and they keep doing it should i raise the bowl fairly high and take off the crikets "jumping legs" so that they cant commit suicide? Anyone got any ideas; well i am open for an ideas.
Thanks in advance.

Putting in rocks that stick out of the water helps a lot. Not 100%, but a lot. I do this for all my geckos and my croc skinks. I just get rocks from outside and wash them in a 10% bleach solustion.
The crickets aren't killing themselves on purpose, they're thirsty and not too bright.

"The serpent crams itself with animal life that is often warm and vibrant, to prolong an existence in which we detect no joy and no emotion. It reveals the depth to which evolution can sink when it takes the downward path and strips animals to the irreducible minimum able to perpetuate a predatory life in its naked horror."
