Quick medical question

Langi Jan 24, 2004 10:30 AM

Today while bathing my beardie, I noticed he was shedding both his front feet but the inner most toes on both of them seemed the tinyist bit swollen and the skin under the scales is a little pink. Im not sure if I explained this right but would it be ok just to put a little niosporen on it? I've been out of town for the last three days and my sister was taking care of my herps so I don't know how long they have been like this. Any ideas?

Sounds like some skin didn't shed off the toes and is cutting off the circulation. Add some baby oil around his toes to help soften and loosen the skin. Watch it carefully to see if the skin comes off and/or the swelling gets worse. If it does get worse, may have to get a vet to cut off the dead skin. Baby oil and lots of soaks should get rid of the dead skin on it's own.
