You will have a bugger of a time getting humidity to a good and stable level in either one. And I would really think that putting a snake in a screen cage is looking for nose rub, abrasions and other problems with humidity and temp. Even with the tank you are gonna want to cover much of the top with plexi or something solid to maintain humidity.

Failure is not an option. It comes bundled with the software.

I would personally stay away from a screen cage. Aquariums/tanks with screen lids can be made to work - with time, patience and possibly extra money. I personally don't like the depth of 55 gallon tanks for adult BPs - although the length is great. If you go with a tank I'd go for a 40 gallon breeder at the minimum. No matter what you choose get it entirely setup and temps/humidity correct BEFORE bringing your BP home.

Here's some measurements for ya:
30 gallon Breeder 36" x 18" x 12"
40 gallon Breeder 36" x 18" x 16"
40 gallon Long 48" x 12" x 16"
50 gallon 36" x 18" x 19"
55 gallon 48" x 13" x 21"

the best way to get a steady himidity with a screen top is to use an ultrasonic humidifier...

keeps my tank at a steady 65%

a Tropic-Aire Humidifier w/ Air Exchanger
or
use a Repti-Flo
or
water dish on warm side, cover with damp towels & mist constantly

There are lots of methods - just a matter of finding what works best for you. I use the Tropic-Aire.
