Dude! Lose the heat rock... Those suckers can burn your little friend and igs naturally go where it is warmest so he might not even be noticing his burning skin. So instead of a heat rock get like a nice Ceramic 100W Bulb that just emitts heat, not light. And another light of course for your day light. And UVA/UVB as you probably remember.

yea, im aware of the whole heat rock thing, but mine is like 20 years old and has lost its power i guess. its barely warm to my hand. I have a Day/night UV bulb
