1.1 in a 21x13x19 screen cage?

iso Jan 24, 2004 03:08 PM

can a breeding pair be kept in a cage that is 21x13x19? I was looking at screen cages and thought it would be a good way to keep my kids in pairs.

I use egg crate and plants in the cages so there would be climbing room.

thanks all.

Sure...especially if you use egg crate.

I like the size, but not the screen.
You need to keep in the humidity!

. . . and I think they do fine with 1x a day misting.

I think the conventional thought on humidity requirements might be overly moist, anyway. Mine are doing very fine - but even as I say this, I would be open to discussion on this humidity subject.

I currently cut up a garbage bag and use it to cover 2/3's of the left/right/and back of the cage. The bag goes on the outside it is just the size of the screen panels. so the front and top are open all the way for air circulation. I also use coco husk as a medium, but I put it in a rubbermaid you use as a dish pan in the kitchen. That way when I need to change it - I just swap it out with a new one. very simple.

i still speay the leaves once a day as well as under two coconut huts. Also have an egg laying dish.

I have my trio in a 16x16x30.

Speaking of eggs - my female laid her first clutch last night. I was able to watch the entire process under red light.

it was amazing!
