Hi, thanks for the input on the supplement thread and thanks to all else who also posted.Much appreciated the input.

I was curious Bill, are you aware if the supplement you are using is available in Canada? I can't seem to find anything by that name up here.I did get some of the T-REX 2:1 Calcium/Phosphorous powdered supplement with vitamins, Herbivorous Reptile formula.

Will this be an adequate substitute in your opinion?I try and keep the diet as balanced as i can in regards to Ca to P being at 2:1 so i feel his diet alone is pretty well balanced but obviously not "perfect" imo.

He has some UVB accessible with the "Iguana Light 5.0" fluorescent within a few inches of a basking spot he sometimes uses, but the main heatsource is now a halogen instead of the Mercury Vapour bulb.I want to ensure he's getting useable D3 as well as being properly supplemented.

Any and all thoughts are appreciated.
Thanks,

Spanky.

Spanky,
It will work to provide cal and d3,to a varied diet...read the bottle and tell me how many I.U of d3 is in it...just curious. The difference between what you bought and the t-rex Uromastyx formula is that you supp. is essentially just a cal supp. The uro formula is actually a complete food with all the macro and micro nutrients you lizard needs, so feeding such a varied diet is not necessary...you just sprinkle the powder liberally over whatever green you want and serve. I no that in the states petco carries it. I would look into a large petstore chain. Let me know if you still have trouble findng it.
good luck,
Bill

No Petco up here that i know of, i've looked at a few of the bigger chain stores but there's still a couple places i can look that carry a healthy supply of herps.Even if i need to i can wait until one of the shows, i'm sure someone will have something there.

Anyways here's the entire contents and info off the bottle exactly as it's listed:

Ingredients:
Dicalcium Phosphate, Bone ash, calcium carbonate, soy flour, steamed bone meal, ascorbic acid, vitamin A acetate, cholecalciferol (source of vitamin D3), and stabalizers.

Guaranteed analysis per 60g:
Calcium (max) 32.4%
Calcium (min) 27.0%
Phosphorus (min) 16.5%
Vitamin A 21,600 IU
Vitamin D3 2,160 IU
Vitamin C 141 mg

yeah, that's pretty much just a calcium supp. , you would still need to put some though into the foods you offer. Would any of the online suppliers ship to canada...I know LLLreptile supply carries it in bulk for about $30 us. Here is a partial list of the Uro formula

Hempseed meal(replaces any millet you would feed),alfalfa meal, fig powder, honey powder(used as an attractant), wheat germ meal, bee pollen, brewers yeast, calcium carbonate, calcium casienate(source of protien), spirula, various plant extracts(may enhance color), the formula also contains probiotics that aid in digestion...all ingredients are human grade and high quality.

This diet and all the others in the sandfire superfoods line were developed at Sandfire Dragon Ranch by Allen Repashy. Allen has a very large collection of Rhacodactylus geckos. He developed a powdered diet that you mix with water and eliminated the need for insects. All the other diets in the product line use the same ingedients but in different ratios that suite the needs of the species it marketed for. I use the different formulas for all my lizards now.
good luck
