Frog Eyed Geckos..

MidnightFalcon Jun 06, 2003 04:36 PM

Uh, my brother bought a pair of Frog Eyed Geckos for me today for $40. I didn't ask for them, I have no clue how to take care of him and I wont be able to talk to my brother for a few days because he's going out of town and we have no phone. Anyway, what's their temperment, is the diet the same as leos? The lighting, substrate, what sized tank? Also, they seem a bit skittish, will they calm down?

they're a lot like leopards in care, but diff in personality, usually. they're a bit more skiddish, and they seem to be much happier never being handeled. but then again some are just as freindly as any leopard. a 10 or 20 gallon tank should be fine, and just treat them like leopard geckos.

Alright, thanks. I was looking at them yesterday, checking them out. They seem okay. I stuck my hand and there.. and they climbed up on it so I guess this is an exception of them being handled? It's a breeding pair, some guy brought them into the pet shop and ask for a 20 gallon tank for them.I got them both for $40. I recently lost my leopard gecko because she was gravid and the eggs were too much stress for her. I don't want to seperate them because if they've been together since they'd hatched it would cause stress, no? They got brought them in as a pair and I will keep them that way. Could I just get a few pointers on breeding if she ever becomes gravid? I was not prepared with my leo. Sorry about the multiple posts, and once again thank you,
Josh.

Ummm, I was just curious. I was told by my brother that you could keep them in with female Leos? Is this true. I noticed that leos are usually in with Fat Tails, would this be okay to keep with them too. I would like to get a Fat Tail sometime, so if it's okay lemme know? I'm sure I'll probably get the whole 'Don't keep other species of reptiles with other species of reptiles.' But I can deal with that, I'm just curious.

it really never is a good idea to keep diff species together. fat-tails and leopard geckos CAN be kept together, as long as you have a humid hide, but it still isnt a good idea. i definatly wouldnt keep frog eyed geckos in with them, being as frog eyed geckos are smaller.
