Heating pads on at night?

the nerve Jun 06, 2003 04:51 PM

Do you guys like to keep your heating pads on at night for your kings and milks? Or should I put my heating pad on a 12/12 cycle, like one would do with a basking lamp?

One one hand, in the wild there is rarely any source for heat at night, except right after the sun sets. But then again, my snake might be more active at night if it's warm enough.

So what should I do? I'm getting a king or milk in one week now.

I guess it might depend on the snake type you have.In the summer I shut the heating pad till around OCT for my Arizona Mt king off completely infact next week it gets shutoff.I dont use ac in that particular room but if I had it in my room which has AC I would leave it on.
I live in NY so in the winter I keep it on 24/7.
