beginnersbasics>> baby growth w/o crix

jbaum Jan 25, 2004 09:19 AM

You sound like you've had good luck with babies growing without crix. I think it would be very nice not to have to worry about buying crix all the time!! I did read, however (on this forum) that a vet recommended SOME live protein source. Do you "supplement" with any live feed? My concern would be that they would like the live feed so much that they would go off the pellets (have had 2 very picky eaters..pet store babies...explains a lot probably!).

All vet's vary on opinion when it comes to crix free dragons. I know some people who raise their dragons without ANY live foods at all and they are doing good. I do however give mine silkies every few days as a "treat".

All pellets are NOT created equal, and if going with a crix free dragon it is better to go with one of the "good" pellet brands such as Rep cal.
