new tegu feeding schedule questions

nygaboon Jan 25, 2004 09:55 AM

2 weeks ago I aquired an Argentine B&W. He's about 6 months I'd estimate, well developed, good fat stores on the tail etc. I've had Columbians in the past and I'm already noticing differences in habits (most for the better). I've noticed that my new guy feeds a little reluctantly. (not as aggressive with feeding as my columbians) and I'm trying to develop a good routine for him.
So far he's interested in eggs (cooked), tangerines, and crickets.
This is the problem: I'm trying to monitor his intake but its difficult with live crickets. The feeding plan that I'm tossing around will include the following:
1. eggs (suggestions as to what percent?)
2. freshly killed crickets
3. fruit (what percent?)
4. pinkies

Any suggestions for the best would be appreciated

Crix help provide entertainment and activity. I give them a few every day.
I offer fruit in the morning, as much as they will eat. Sometimes with eggs.
I give them turkey mixed with fruit every other day in the afternoon.
Mice once a week instead of turkey

Fruit is essential for good shedding
