Vivarium almost done....

Leif Jan 25, 2004 10:30 AM

Well, thanks to all the great information I found on this forum I was able to do something I'v wanted to do for many years, build a vivarium. The backgound is done and the water feature is up and running, it just needs a good planting and eventually some frogs. I threw one of our household broms in there just to give it a little color. As for frogs, I'm leaning towards tincs or azureus.

Thanks again for all the information and links!

Hmmm, my image didn't seem to work. Well, I'v never posted an image before but once I figure it out I'll try again.

Here's the picture I hope! It's a 20 Gal. high.

Here's a slightly differnt angle. It's hard to get an actual representation of how it looks with a picture.

Sorry for the trial and error with the pics.

Thanks for your comments and encouragment. It will be a while before it is all planted. It's hard to get tropicals up here in the Northeast this time of year when it's minus 0 degrees everyday. None of the usual stores have any. I will be ordering some online once the weather moderates a bit.

Until then I'll be dreaming of a lush little chunk of rainforest in my house....and trying to decide how I want to do my 125 Gal. tank! I'm thinking about dividing it into 4 sections so I can keep several types of frog in the same tank without them actually coming in contact with each other. It will be like having 4 20 Gal. tall tanks side by side, each with it's own unique bacground and plantings....yup, still dreaming.

making the tank is as much fun as the frogs to me. Also the reason I get more frogs....some of the reason.

I hear you about making the tank. I just finished this one and now I want to make another already!

But I'll wait and see how this one turns out once the final step is taken...frogs!

I do like these tanks even without the frogs though....

The background turned out very nice. Is it the weldabond and bedding mixture?
