I have a pair of DH snows that I got last year and I've noticed a difference in the way they are growing.
The female is growing length wise just as fast as the male, maybe faster...its hard to tell. However, the male is much fatter looking. She eats, but just doesn't gain weight. Just gets longer. She is about 26" long and only as big around as a quarter in her thickest part. The male is about the same thickness, but his neck and tail regions seem fatter.
They are both eating about the same amount of food once a week. Should I step up her feeding to get some weight on her? Or will she start gaining weight once her length starts slowing down? I do not want to "push" them. I just want them healthy. Thanks for any info. I've got lots of experience with kenyans and colubrids, but these are my first columbians.
Travis.
