changing sand question!

i am changing the sand in my leos tank every half a year! would it be alright to change the kind of sand in his cage!? whats does calcium sand do that normal sand doesnt? i like the looks of normal sand better and i want to get it put i dont no if my calcium sand is better! plzz help asap! i was supposed to change the sand a week ago! thanx!

My trusted Vet told me to take out the sand and switch to paper towels/ slate (the sand can be too hard on their digestive system and can breed bacteria¶sites). Slate looks great and you just clean the same tiles every day.

Don't use calcium sand, it actually poses a higher risk than normal sand. The particles are larger, so they could lodge in the animals gut more easily...and they do not dissolve, contrary to the advertising.
