Box Turtle Breeder

ed17 Jan 25, 2004 11:43 AM

Hi. I've have been looking for an adult male eastern box turtle for quite some time. I was hoping i could find a breeder, or someone who is selling one preferably around Ontario, Canada. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Check the Kingsnake classifieds, or with your local Herp Society about adoptions.
This isn't really the place to advertise...

the thing is this. nobody was really advertizing. perhaps he was just looking to find a new pet, and was asking if anyone knew of any reputable breeders. just a simple question. besides, who really wants to deal with anyone in the classifides section? many are overpriced if you want to buy a pet, or sold in bulk to pet shops.

Thanks Gina. I might have worded my message wrong. i was just wondering if anyone knows of any reputable box turtle breeders or related info. Thanks.

Other posts making similar inquiries have been removed because they have evidently been in violation of the "no advertising" rule on this forum: I'm not a moderator , but was just trying to provide a warning of sorts.
If you are looking for something, and ask if anyone has it, that can be construed as a want-ad.
Also, because the poster is in Canada (I presume), their search should be in that country so that laws are not broken...
Have you checked with a local Herp Society, or Turtle Homes about adopting one that has been surrendered for whatever reason? Those are the sorts of avenues that I would explore first, before considering a purchase.
