How do I shrink the pictures to fit the forum, no matter what size the pic is when I put it in the gallery, they are always the same too big size on the forum. What am I doing wrong?

...are probably the size indicated by the resolution (perhaps in megapixels) you have chosen. You may want to find some software like "Paint Shop Pro" or "Adobe Photoshop" to manipulate the images for the "size in pixels" (eg 640x480) or the quality (the FILE size, like 45k). Of course, my favorite, "The Gimp" is only offered for Linux-Unix type systems LOL. Some of the software that comes with the cameras has some basic functions like this, some dosen't. The stuff that came with my Fuji has no real editing options, just mostly a viewer with a save option. Surf around on your program to see what's there. Most photos you only want to have viewed over the internet don't need to be very high quality, as I think most monitors can only display 72 to 100 dots per inch. I have pretty good results with pictures set to 640x480 with a filesize under 45k. Remember to save them as .jpg (JPEG) type compressed files too. Keep 'em coming LOL, nice blues on that lizard. Practice practice practice!

Alright, I have a Kodak camera, very basic, almost pathetic really! But it takes pics so... Kodak has an editing program, but no place to change file sizes or resolutions. I have a photoshop program that came on the computer, this is where I change the sizes currently. There is a "image size" option that allows you to change either the actual resolution (ie 840x620) or a % (max size being 100%) I just cut the % down to 60% or 40% and I can upload to the photo gallery on here. But all the pics, whether they are 40% or 60% appear the same size when I add the image to my post. I will keep trying and playing with the camera for clearer shots!

I hope I used the proper terms, I am kind of technolgically illiterate. Thanks

...to make sure you "save" the edited image, or it will send the image as it was before the changes. Try to use a size around 640x480 and see how you like that. If you see an option for "quality", set it to around 40%. Experiment! One thing about my camera, it needs to be braced against something for most indoor shots, as the shutter speed is so slow you almost always get "hand shake" just from the movement of tripping the shutter, which looks like a blur or focus problem in the picture.

I rename all my edited pics so I am pretty sure they are being posted, but I'll check the size and look for a quality option. When I took the pics today my blood sugar was a little low, so I was kinda shaky! I'll have to start bracing my camera!

Thanks for the tips, I'll just have to practice practice practice!
