How difficult is it to find an Aruba Island Rattlesnake (Crotalus Unicolor)??

peterfromme Jan 25, 2004 07:01 PM

Hi,

I've been trying to research Aruba Island Rattlesnakes (Crotalus Unicolor), but unfortunately there isn't a lot of information on them. Are they readily available within the US?
If so, who would have them? Finally, how much would they sale for?

Thanks,

Peter F.

I have lived in Aruba for about a year and have never ever seen one overthere. And I can tell you that I have really been looking hard. It is said (locally) that no more than hundred remain on the Island. The only place I have ever seen the aruba Island ratler is in the Fort Worth zoo in Texas.
So good luck finding one. And if you do, you would probably need to pay its weight in gold.
