I've rediscovered the pure joy of just watching my geckos. They haven't failed to amuse and amaze me. Here are some of my observations:
- A cricket found it's way into the clear nesting box. Upon being sighted by my 8 year old female, Gem, she instantly climbed onto the box and in through the top opening, without thinking twice or trying to strike through the plastic. A younger new addition to the group had grown up in a setup devoid of clear objects and was frustrated trying to bite through the plastic. Wise old geckoes?
-A witnessed a gecko scratching it's head in the ear area with it's back foot, dog-style. Very funny.
- The aforementioned young gecko had lived solitarily and enjoyed the habit of wiggling the tip of her tail over any stimuli in her enviroment. She has seen stopped almost completely after living with a couple geckos who just have to snap at that. When in Rome . . .
- The geckos sometimes start digging while hunting if they are having trouble finding the crickets, despite the fact that there's never been an instance of crickets hiding in the substrate. You can take the gecko out of the wild (she's C.B.), but you can't take the wild out of the gecko.
What have you guys seen your geckos doing? I think they can be a lot more intelligent than we give them credit for.
Smacks
If when you die, you get a choice between pie heaven and regular heaven, choose pie heaven. It might be a trick, but if it's not, mmmm-boy

He also seemed to transfer the experience to the bed because he'll look off the edge but won't try to get off the mattress.
