Hey, nice pics.
Is that one a female, do you think? Do you have a pair?
How does the growth of your argus compare to your Chacoans? I'm just wondering, as I'm curious about tegus.
D.
I think it is a female...but I dont really KNOW jack about these guys besides BASIC husbandry.
It is growing extremely fast. I havent measured it lately but it was a little under 24in. when i received it. He could probably be bigger now but the cage i have him in is too small for him. The person who was supposed to buy him from me has been jerking me around quite a bit, so the cage he is in was supposed to be very temporary. I like it a lot...she is easier to handle than my tegus.
Speaking of the tegus, I have a funny story. I normally keep a dark rubbermaid tub (filled with mulch and dirt) in their trough with a hole cut out in the top for a hide spot...but I took it out because the substrate was getting soggy and smelly and needed to be changed. I put two cinder blocks in its place until i had time to get more substrate. Twice since then, the tegus have escaped and found their way into their old hide box. Their trough is located on my patio overlooking a swampy South Florida conservation so their freedom was only one vinyl screen away.
