sand in the nose

shootist Jan 25, 2004 09:01 PM

ive got sand in half of my uro's tank, where his basking rock, hide, and branch are. this is where he sleeps. he goes under his hide and digs a nice hole to sleep in. every morning he has sand in his nose and i gently wipe it off. is this anything to be concerned about?

i dont really worry about impaction because a food dish and another branch are on the other side of the tank where only scattered sand from his travels are. so his dish is pretty clean of sand.

this is usually salt deposits they make that can be in or around the nose area, nothing to be concerened about a quick wipe and its gone.
