Rat and mouse fuzzies can be easily sexed by comparing the distance between the genital papillae (this is the little protrusion in both males and females at the genital area) and the anus.
This distance in males is about twice that in the females and in addition the papillae are larger in males.
Nipples in the female pups are visible at one week of age so of course that's another telling sign but generally when sexing I look for the distance at first glance.

I have a small pictorial guide on one of my websites. The pictures aren't the best... I've come to be able to tell at a fairly early age... both male and female mice have a little "thingie" that sticks out, making sexing a challenge, but males are longer, and stick out at an angle like:/_

Check out the site. scroll to the bottom of the page to see the links to a number of mouse resources, including some mousey cartoons.

And for fun, here's a picture of one of my Odd-Eyed Rats.
