My iguana and his light....

lazandlouie Jan 25, 2004 10:23 PM

My iguana likes to sit on top of his cage so i just turn the light sideways and clamp it on the top of the cage close to him. I was just wondering if such a bright bright light could damage any of his vision, is their anything anyone should tell me about doing this? I really appreciate it!! Thanks.

Yeah, staying so close to a bright light can possibly hurt your iguanas eyes, but only if he stares at it, watch him. Usually if it is too bright his pupils will change to control the light intake to a minimal but still, if he stares at the light then take it away. I would say put it a bit higher if you can. I hope I've helped and hope you enjoy your day.

Yeah that helps a lot, I just wasnt sure, I'm just going to nail something to the ceiling (not sure what yet) and make the light hang over head. Thanks alot!!
