Feeding question

shupach Jan 25, 2004 10:55 PM

well its time to change from mice to small rats on my newly acquired ball, he ate the mouse today around 4pm and since then he's been roaming all over the cage. The guy at the snake store said to feed him both the mouse and the rat at the same time, im curious if i should wait a couple days or just try to feed him now? i cant even see a bulge from the mouse on him.

Yeah, the reason to feed them both at the same time was that after a snake starts feeding, it get's into this instinctual feeding mode, and would be much more likely to grab the rat after finishing the mouse. It makes the transition easier.

I'd wait till next week, feed a small mouse first, and then after the mouse is all the way down, offer the small rat.

Hope it goes well. : )
