One of my womas in a rack system I built for them as babies. I am considering getting a 48" freedom breeder rack. Do any of you have experiance with these?

That is a great looking woma! I love the way that little womas look.

I keep my adult womas in 48" neodesha cages without any problems and they seem to like the extra space. My adults are very active and constantly moving around thier cages. Good luck with yours!

do you let the females incubate the eggs or do you separate them??

Last year was my first year getting eggs so I attempted to incubate them myself. I got 15 eggs from my female and hatched only 5 males. I am not sure if it was a fertility issue or my incubation methods. I tend to believe that it was the latter. I am dropping my temps down to 87.5 and I am going to mix the vermiculite much dryer this year. However, I am toying with the idea of maternal incubation. I have two females that should hopefully go this year so maybe I will incubate one clutch and let the mother do the other clutch. I am sure that she knows how to take of her eggs much better than a kid from Oconomowoc,WI.

Best of luck with your womas,

Brett

Hmmm... considering that they are from an arid environment I wouldn't mix the vermiculite too wet. I have heard the dryer the better but you must keep the humidity up. I will let you know how it goes this year. I might try maternal incubation. It would be a great sight to see the hatchlings crawling out of their mother's coils.
