Christmas Toads

sallie_keeper Jan 26, 2004 03:04 AM

Does anyone out there know the Scientific name for the Christmas toad? I keep seeing them advertized for sell at LLLreptile and I would like to know a little about them, BEFORE I get one or two..

I have looked in all the databases I know of, and the Christmas toad name does not pop up... I cant even find a picture of them..

If not, anyone have experience with these guys???

Thanks in advance..

I looked around and found the latin name is Bufo varigatus. A search for that might turn up more information. This page here, http://derekb15.tripod.com/tropicaltreasures/id23.html has some care info but I have no idea if it is correct. I would search for the latin name and see what information you can find out about their wild environment.
