who worry about their leos when they escape. No one wants to have a gecko escape but it happens, they are escape artists and are more intelligent than I think many people give them credit for. One of mine managed to open her screen top, climb out, and shut it behind her as she left! I thought I was going crazy or someone broke into the house and stole her when I discovered her missing, as the cage top was shut, it was only when I saw her on a later occassion after she was found and back in her enclosure, and I saw her climbing up and hanging from her screen to that I finally figured out what happened. People worry terribly and get extremely upset when it happens, thinking their gecko will die, but the reality is, people almost ALWAYS find them alive, though it can take months. I've been posting on this forum for several years and only know of one person on this forum who didn't find theirs alive sooner or later, and that person had a cat, who killed the gecko and brought it to the owner...even this was months after it was lost.
Obviously no one wants a gecko to escape and would try to prevent it happening, but human beings are not omniscient and not everything is foreseeable by us mere mortals. Once a gecko escapes anyone would take steps to try to prevent it from happening again, if they can figure out how the animal escaped in the first place. The last thing someone needs when they are agonizing about their gecko escaping and worrying if it is dead is someone getting on their high horse and trying to make them feel bad.
