Waterfalls?

juliecwuk Jun 06, 2003 07:09 PM

I would like to build a resonably small waterfall for my day gecko tanks. Ideally i would like it to be 'self contained' - i.e not running through a false bottom. I know you can purchase ready made waterfalls but i would like to attempt to make one first! any ideas or tips??

Julie.

I'm making one at the moment. All I am doing is taking three triangular (is that a word?)... Anywho... pieces of plexi-glass. one as the bottom and the other two as the sides. I siliconed the sides to the egdes of the bottom piece leaving a open front. I then plan to take *Great-Stuff* foam and spray it in there. (Before I do that I plan to place the tubing from a drilled hole in the bottom conected to a pump/filter and bring it to the top)
Then I either plan to carve a windy path from the top to the bottom as a designated waterway. The rest of the area I plan to add gravel to dry in the foam and maybe some air plants. Hope you can follow that craptastic description but I should have pics soon too. Hope this helps.

Here's a link for a plaster and epoxy waterfall.

Go back to main construction page and follow some of the other links for more specific info on products and technique.

I'm corresponded with this guy and his plaster pools held of for 10 years with no leaks.
