Hey gang! Just got a book on inter library loan.... Bennett answer to your Q on eating shed

The book is by Bechtell and the name is Reptile and Amphibian variants. I've been waiting for this book for like 7 weeks. It has some great info on genetics. I'm learning alot. Though it is kind of vague on some topics I was more interested in and leans toward snakes it still is answering many questions I had about what is going on with colors, patterns, and mutations.

He says that lizards in general (not just beardies) eat their shed to salvage valuable protien. My guess is this is an instinctual behavior learned by lizards from climates where there is a limited amount of food that contains protien. Just thought I'd share.
