True Fire Skinks

emumaster17 Jan 26, 2004 10:54 AM

Im thinking of getting a true fire skink. Are they hard to care for? Are they bad tempered? Im just wondering. What is a resonable price for one? The one I might buy is about $35 to 40.

Thanks.

sounds like a good price! I've come across them for as low as 30, but that's at the best petstore in the universe. 40 sounds like a deal, I payed that for a gold skink, which is roughly the same size. Speaking of similarities...if they are anything at all like a gold skink, you can hand tame them if you get them at a young age (6 months or less). My female Gold can't be hand tamed cause I got her at 1.5 years, but my male who I got at 6 months can be held for like 5 minutes at a time before getting pissy. just handle them in the cage for a few months, then when you're sure they aren't gonna flip out, try taking them somewhere else.
