How to tell the difference between a Baby Ball Python and a Ball Python

dawntodust1 Jan 26, 2004 12:25 PM

Last night I adopted what I was told was a 1 yr old ball python. She's only 15 inches long 1 - 1 1/4 wide. So how do you tell the differene between a baby ball and a normal ball???
Also at the base of her tell where her but is get's really skinny compared to the rest of her. Is that normal?

Thanks, Christy

Sounds small for a yearling-my female was that size when I got her, and I was "told" she was 2 weeks old. Mine seemed to grow almost an inch per feeding, but my measurements could be off. My guess would be your snake is well under a year old, but who knows for sure?
