In Search for a Green Iguana

We have a 2 year old iguana and she is sick. I dont think she is going to get better. We will know within the next few days. If she does not get better, we want to find another green iguana that is 2-3 years old. I am in Louisiana near Baton Rouge. Can anyone help me out?

Have you taken her to the vet? What is wrong with her? 2 years
old is very young to be so sick!

She is at LSU right now. Apparently she burned the bottom side of herself somehow and has messed her up quit a bit.

Before you run out and get another ig, what has caused yours to be sick...how was she housed? what did you feed her? Does she have proper UVB lights? Do you have the book Iguanas for Dummies by Melissa Kaplan...great info on caring for igs...Iguanas should live 15 to 20 yrs not only 2 yrs....so something is wrong somewhere...let us know so we can see what the problems might be...Lyn

Yes apparently we did not know enough about iguanas. But have been well told how to care for her or him now. We have purchased more lighting for her and now know more about eating habits and the bedding and such. I have bought 1 other book and read it and are well aware of how to care for them now.
