Reptile for a pet....

Ok i have asked and look and i want more answers!lol, but neways here is my requirements:
1. Less than 2 1/2 Feet, but big enough, you know?
2. Handible/Semi-Handible
3. Kept in a reasonable sized cage
4. Not Aggresive, i do have a little brother
5. Not too High Matience, i have school, but i will be home everynight
6. Omnivore, Herbivore, insectovore, or specialized carnivore diets (San Diego Zoo diets); i keep rats, and have had mice, i would kindof feel uncomfortable feeding those

Ok heres notes on pricing-
Ok for the Lizard itself, the reptile, no more than $75 for the pet, its just im a teen, and my mom moght help me pay for the eqiupment and will help with emergency vet bills.

ok heres my expierence- ive kept caught pet/small cheaper pet store reptiles-
Anoles, Garters, Toads, Frogs, Turtles, etc. So im not a newbie

I have looked at many things on my search, just to tell you what i have researched- Bearded Dragons, Leopard Geckos, Iguanas, Savvannah Monitors, Tegus, Cornsnakes, Ribbon Snakes, Misc. Geckos, Some Water Dragons, etc.

yea i was kinda leanin towards that, how much do they run at a monthly expo on average? any other suggestions?

I wanna say... you can get a normal colored one for $35.
They're all captive bred so you have a good chance of starting out on the right foot. Oh yeah... they do need UV light. But they're a lot of fun.
Blue tounged skinks are also cool, but they're a bit more pricey, especially for a captive bred one.
There are a lot of awesome cheap lizards that are a bit smaller... leopard geckos, crested geckos, some of the smaller skinks...
Ackie monitors are also neat but really expensive.
Whatever you get, I think you should stick to captive bred stuff. It's the best way to avoid a lot of problems.
You're kind of out of luck on snakes because the vast majority in the pet trade eat rodents except for garters and ribbons. Which can make good pets.
