cheapest I've seen for any bts is about $150. The most expensive was about $225.

Really?Everywhere I have looked they have been 90$ for babies.

all the ones I've seen are for adults, I haven't ever seen babies in a store

also kremlinator, babies are less expensive, and irian jayan's and indonesian varieties are the least expensive both for adults and babies, because they are being imported on a large scale basis right now so they are a common occurence. $65 seems like a good price for an irian or indonesian baby bts. even thought they are cheaper, just be wary, because even though the babies may be captive born, their parents are almost always going to be wild caught, which are generally much less healthy. this goes for indonesian more than irian jayan ones. if you want a really healthy, tame bts i would suggest a privately bred northern or something along those lines. although they are much harder to find and you may have to wait to get one, and even though they are more expensive, you won't be sorry if you get one. my first bts was an indonesian that died within a week of recieving him, he was wild caught and i was nieve at the time. now i have to northerns and couldn't be happier. here is a pic of one of them.

1. To rule out impulse buyers that aren't serious. The cost of the animal is the least of the costs in owning a reptile. I don't want skinks to go the way of igs and beardies and become priced so low the fall into the so called "disposable pet" category.

2. Because I have spent $75.00 per baby on preventative vet care, much more in food, and a LOT of time taming and socializing them.

Cheaper is not always better
