King of the Roost!

kephy Jan 26, 2004 08:14 PM

Domo was giving me a laugh this evening, posing on his branch like he owned the place!

He's eating about ten to twelve 3/8" crickets a day. Won't touch greens, but he's only a month old, still too young to worry about that? Also, is 7 inches a pretty big size for his age?

His size is normal for his age but he should be eating more crickets a day around 30 and try and give the greens in the morning before you give him his first crickets and see if hell eat them. I hand fed my babies some greens and after that they chow down on them in the mornings, I guess since its not moving they may think its just more decor. good luck and nice looking beardie.

I've been giving him greens first thing in the morning but he won't touch them. He just looks them over and goes about his routine.

Then about 3 hours later I'll offer him crickets but he doesn't eat more than 4 or 5 at a time. I offer them 2-3 times a day. Is it possible he's still acclimating to his new environment? He's only been here 4 days.

For more information, I've got him in a 20 gallon tank. 115 degree basking spot and 80 degree gradient w/ UVB light, 14 hours a day. Dusting crickets once a day. Misting him w/ water once a day. Does that sound about right?
