Ovulation? What do YOU think? First pic....

Ovulation seems to be short and not always observed in BRB's.

Hi
I can't really tell if that is a ovulation, but it sure looks suspicious. when this was observed how long was it since last copulation?
I observed copulation last sunday about four hours after a meal. the next day it seemed like the female was rather thick, but it was hard to tell because of the meal she ate the day before. and all monday she didn't use the hides at all, and the area where she was thick were stretch out. she usaully coils up in one of the hides after a meal. today she is back in her hide.
is it normal for brb to ovulate short after copulation?

best regards
Dan Binderup

Linda,
. That snake looks like it has something uncomfortable going on and is trying to get into a comfortable position. It likely is ovulation unless the snake has some sort of gastrointestinal problem going on. When was the last meal?

Last meal refused 1-6-04, previous eaten meal 12-23-03. Last poopy doo on 1-16-04. Has not been offered food since last refusal. Observed breeding previously many times in Dec, but the latest were 1-1-04, 1-11,04, and 1-25-04. These are just what I actually saw. Personally, I think it was ovulation or she is gravid. I was home all day and thought it weird that she hadn't really changed positions but more and more spots were visible and it seemed to happen within 3 hours and stopped.

I do not have any reason to consider she is ill.
