Mineral Oil for possible impaction

barker109 Jun 06, 2003 08:53 PM

I have a really nice dragon that has completely stopped eating.
He hasn't had a bowel movement in a number of days. We tried panacur with no results. Am I correct, that mineral oil may help him pass his load? He weighs 318 grams. What type of dosage would be recommended? Thanks for the help.
Take care,
Karen
P.S. I use parazap monthly and have given him a dose of panacur. I believe if it was coccidia(sp)his stool would be loose. If the mineral oil doesn't work its to the vet we go.
I'm also soaking him daily.

i used a dropper for mine and got about three drops, but he was fighting it so i may have got more or less but i gave him a warm bath the next day and it all came out and he started acting normal again, infact he ate right after the bath

Great!!! I have a small syringe that should work well. I'll keep you posted.
Thanks so much.
