I've noticed that my gecko will try to eat anything that moves. I was misting his tank, and some water droplets congregated on the tank sides whereby some got large enough to race down the glass. My gecko then hurredly ran over and tried to nab the droplet of water as if it were a cricket and a moment of comedy ensued as my gecko ran into the tank glass and sneezed after finding out it wasn't a cricket.

I've also tried to get him to drink out of a water dish with little success. I tried presenting it to him and dipping my finger into the water to make small ripples to stimulate him to drink, he came over with a very interested look, and then looked as if he'd take a sip but instead he nabbed my finger (I guess it's not too smart to make you finger look like a wriggling mealworm). He quickly let go and ran off after he found out he bit me (I guess he was expecting retaliation?).

Lastly, I think he recognizes mealworms by shape now. Now longer does the mealworm have to squirm around for him to get interested. He'll zero in and attack, and if there's no reaction from the mealworm, he'll summarily spit it out.
