How long should they be active?

paradisio Jan 26, 2004 09:57 PM

Just wondering, how many hours a day should my leos be active? I stay up pretty late (1-2 AM) and they are always in their hide usually... I have only had them for a couple of days, maybe I am just worrying too much as a new owner...

Also what time should I feed them?

Yea give it some time and you'll probably find them wandering the enclosure a little more. Mine didnt start wandering until about 2 weeks. Also, when you watch them late is your light on or is it dark? They may only come out when its dark. Good luck, and enjoy your geckos.

Mine comes out around 4 PM and stops wandering around at 11pm or midnight. Sometimes he comes out as early as 3:30 to take a poo. He usually eats between 5 and 8, sometimes nabs that last mealworm at night when I'm sleeping. I think feeding around normal human dinner time is pretty good (between 6 and 8).

I feed mine about an hour before i shut of all the lights. When i feed them i shut off the basking light and only have the overhead light in my room on.
