I would say it was an accident, I don't know how his enclosure looks like or how it is built so I can't say how.

Have a great day.

Sounds like a husbandry problem. Does your bro give any kind of vitamin supplementation? Is it possible that it could be a shed problem? I have seen many different lizards lose their toes to constrictive skin/stuck shed, caused from either not enough moisture or too much moisture. A visit to the vet is probably in need. Good luck to your bro.

When we spoke on friday in chat, I pointed out many husbandry issues. This iguana severely needs a vet and a better diet.

Toes falling off are often the result of small fibers such as carpeting getting wrapped around the toes. Another cause is retained sheds.

As I said on friday when we spoke, your brothers husbandry needs a SEVERE makeover. Starting with a proper diet. No more insects and a better selection of greens.

We never really got into heating, lighting and housing, but im sure they could use some help too. Please check out the many websites that people have posted with care info. Start with the one listed below.
