Introducing Picasso...

jiffypop Jun 06, 2003 09:05 PM

This iguana came into the rescue tonight from a town 20 miles away. Animal Control got a call about an iguana in someone's driveway and they called us before the lizard was even picked up. We're assuming that he was used as a paintball target, thus the blue paint splotches. He's small and thin, has some MBD issues, some skin and joint issues, but he's sweet as all heck. He's had a bath and has already eaten a few bites of food. I'll post updates as we learn more about him.

What a cutie!

That's really horrible how someone used their iggy as a paintball target though. It's about as funny as people "making up" jokes promoting equally cruel treatment of iguanas, like shock treatment.

Best of luck to you and Picasso, I bet he'll turn out just fine now that he's in good hands. =)

He's a very pretty iguana. Just one thing, at least from the picture, those don't look like paintball hits. I could definitely be wrong, but that looks a lot more like acrylic paint. Paintballs are vegetable oil based and almost translucent, and if someone was sick enough to shoot at him, they would have probobly hopped up there velocity enough to seriously hurt him or kill him, which you could definitely do w/ a paintball gun. ( i used to play )
Just my not very important two cents.

Best of luck to him and you!
