Lighting?? 5.0 or 8.0 ?? Heat ??

nancyjo Jan 26, 2004 11:27 PM

O.K. I am reading in some recommended material to use a 5.0 UVB light. I went to the pet store and they had 5.0 and an 8.0. They recommended 8.0 for dragons. Is this right? What is the difference??

Also. I bought a probe thermometer awhile back. It was reading properly, I guess, and my heating was in good shape. Now it reads low temps even right underneath my basking light. Do bulbs go bad or themometers.

Thermometers can go bad, but usually it takes a lot to make them do so. As for the 5.0 and the 8.0, Either would work great for a BD. The 8.0 gives out more UVB.

Thank you.

Please seem my digital probe question. Should I be using "In" or "Out"?

Also you said that 8.0 produces more UVB. This is a good thing, right?
