New Hatchlings question

macfisto Jan 26, 2004 11:28 PM

Does anyone know how long it takes new hatchlings to start eating? Mine already had their first shed and I haven't seen them eat. They are active though.

Welcome to the forum, and congrats on your new hatchling. They should be ready to eat right after their first shed. I try offering medium sized mealworms at first, and if they don’t go for them within a few days, ill give them small to medium crickets. The moving crickets seem to trigger them to eat. Remove any crickets that aren’t eaten within 20 minutes.

Give your hatchling a bit more privacy that your other leos, it can stress them out if you bother them too much. If you have any more questions, please let us (the forum) know. Good luck!
