I think we made a big mistake!

We cut part of Jade's screen off the side to let her go into the umbrella tree we have beside her cage. (wouldn't fit in her cage) And for the first two weeks she has been just hanging out in the tree. Now I never know where I am going to find her. I've found her out of the room going down the hall. That was the first time, I was so shocked to see her coming down our hall way. Now she climbs on top of her cage, all over our bedroom. She hasdn't been lost for more then 2 or three minutes, and thank god we have no other pets and Caleb's not old enough to walk! Once she figured out how to climb down the 20" pot, she's never in her cage. And we can't just put screen around the area, it is our bedroom and it doesn't work with how her cage is angled. We've got it angled in a cornor so the walls don't block off the air flow through the screen.
We've been really lucky on finding her, and we really didn't think she would leave the tree. She was a screen climber when we got her, but that all changed when she got her full sized cage.
Right now we feel our only option is to replace the screen and remove the tree from the room so she doesn't see it and want in it. But we really want her to have the tree. Well trees, because there is a corn plant beside the umbrella tree that she loves to hide in.
Help!

she was digging in the umbrella tree, and since then she has developed brown markings all over her tail and body, and is turning a darker green. When she was stressed out today when I took her off our bed and put her back in her cage, her normally white scaly looking splotches on her side were a neon green color. Her eating and drinking has slowed down. We had a thought that maybe she is acting like a cat and looking for the perfect place to have her babies (infertile eggs...same thing)
