Breeding

When I introduce my male to my 19 month female dragons. The females puff up and lash their tails. No mating takes place. Is this normal? What should I do?

Introduce the female to the male and not the other way around. They may also be saying they are not quite ready to breed yet? How long since they woke from brumation?

I had a feamle that I housed with her mate (before I knew this was a no-no) She threw 4 clutches without displaying this behavior (at least that I seen) but I recieved a new male and they could see him across from they're cage and when I removed her mate and put the other male in she responded this way but there was copulation. Of course there was also a head bobbing contest for 2 days prior to me introducing the other male.

I think if anything the male isn't ready yet and it may be due to the lack of another males presence? Just my thuoghts and opinion, and like I said I could be way off base as I've only had experience with that particular breeding.

I call that the dance of love/hate/love. They love to hate him wanting to love on them.... I'm not an expert but I think that is normal breeding behavior. I'd lash my tail and puff up too if I knew some guy was gonna chase me around, throw me down, bite my neck and have his way with me....LOL Are the females proven? I've only seen proven females respond this way. But I may be wrong, so anyone else?

They have never bred before. Brumation was 2 months ago. They are all kept in the same cage. They get along in the cage it is when I take them out that the do this. I would just like to see some breeding.
