Dwarf Retic

Tormato Jun 06, 2003 09:47 PM

I keep Carpets and Bloods. My largest snake is a Boa-she's about eight and a half feet. She's pretty heavy bodied, and I know Retics are pretty thin. When they say "dwarf" retic, how long are we talking? 15 feet? I dont like the regular form of retic, but seeing the supers and the tigers, they are quite handsome. I just dont want a snake that might get 27 feet.
thanks
john

The most prominant Dwarf retics on the market right now are the Jampea and Kayuadi retics.

A male jampea can de anywhere from 6-8ft long on average, while a female jampea can grow to be 8-12ft. Jampeas have a relativly pleasant disposition.

I have 2.2 Kayuadi dwarf retics all of which are approx. 6ft long. There are several individuals that have kayuadi that are 8-9ft long in their collections. Much less is know about Kayuadi dwarfs. They have only recently been captive bred as of this year. There were 2 clutches by the same keeper here in the states and one keeper produced a clutch in Europe also. There have also been a few cases of Wild Caught females droping fertile clutches shortly after import.

Hope this helps.

how big do the crosses get? like the dwarf albino or dwarf tiger?
could one assume somewhere btween your figure of 6ft and the max of 27? (heh, pretty big ball park eh?) or have any of these animals grown up yet to give us a better picture of what the dwarfXfullsize morphs should grow to?

like the thread above, my biggest animal is a female BCC... and they get sizable but not retic sizable.

thanks!
